Arthritis is one of the most common causes of hip pain in the adult population. Although symptoms may vary, patients typically experience activity-related pain in the groin that may also be referred to the knee. Severe symptoms can be treated with hip replacement.
Dr. Akindolire performs hip replacement using both lateral (side of the hip) and anterior (front of the hip) approaches. We are happy to discuss the most appropriate option for you.
Knee arthritis can cause debilitating pain and stiffness. This may also be associated with a gradual change in the shape of the leg (bull legs or knock knees). Depending on your age and severity of disease, either a realignment procedure (osteotomy) or joint replacement can be helpful. We look forward to discussing the best option for you.
Arthritic foot and ankle joints respond well to fusion surgery. The goal of these procedures is to realign and stabilize the joint while eliminating the painful joint surface. In a select group of patients, joint replacement may also be an option. We are happy to discuss all reasonable options available to you.
